Privacy Policy

Updated and effective: August 1, 2020

tldr; You are here because you're concerned about your privacy. You might not know us and it’s possible you don’t trust us. That’s completely understandable. With the amount of personal information posted online and increased fraud happening on the internet, it’s impossible to trust just anyone these days. This policy describes what data we collect, how we use your data, and your rights to your data.

This Privacy Policy (“Policy”) describes how we collect, use, and handle your information when you use our websites, software, and services ("Services"). When we talk about “Neighborhoody”, “we”, “our”, or “us” in this policy, we are referring to Homeownly, LLC (“Neighborhoody”), the company which provides the Services. Content and information submitted by users to the Services is referred to in this policy as (“Customer Data”).

For purposes hereof, Organizations (“Organization”) includes but is not limited to real estate companies, homeowner or condo associations, housing cooperatives or other housing facilities, non-profit associations, public agencies, schools or school boards, private utilities, special districts, or similar entities that provide services to customers whether private or public. Customer Data may be controlled by the organization and or other third parties that have access to or manage the organization. If an Organization adds your information to our site and you do not want to be a part of our service, contact us and our staff will delete you from our system.

By visiting, or by purchasing or using the Services, you consent to the privacy practices described in this Policy. Our Services are currently available for use via a web browser or applications specific to your desktop or mobile devices.

What Information We Collect

We collect different types of Customer Data from or through the Services:

  • Identity & Account Access:

When you sign up or interact with the Services, we collect Customer Data from you. When you register for the Services, you voluntarily provide your name, email address, profile picture, and other similar personal and contact information. When you correspond with the Services, whether registered or not, you may voluntarily provide your name, contact information, and other correspondence details. If you invite new users to join the Services, you might share their information with us such as email address, phone number, or residential address, or you may share your contacts with us, so we can send an invitation and send follow-up reminders on your behalf. If you use Facebook or Google to register, log in to, or later connect your accounts to Neighborhoody, you authorize these third-party services to share your information with us, including your email address and other profile information.

  • Organization:

We collect information about your Organization, employer, or associated business entity or association when you provide it to us. When you use the Services associated with an Organization account, you may voluntarily provide the Organization’s name, website, email address, phone number, member or customer data, and similar associated information. For Organizations that utilize a paid version of our Services, our affiliates, partners, and our third-party payment processors may collect and store billing address and credit card information on our behalf or we may do this ourselves.

  • Organization Provided Information:

Organizations buying our Services for your use, such as your homeowners association or similar entity, may provide us with personal data about you and your eligibility to use the Services that they purchase for use. For example, we may get contact information for authorizing users to access our premium Services.

  • Site Usage:

We collect non-personally-identifying Customer Data in order to better understand how users use the Services and, where possible, to improve the experience. In some cases, we may publicly display information that is not personally identifying in the aggregate, (e.g., by publishing a report on trends in the usage of our Services) or may provide the aggregate data to third parties. We also get information about your network, location, and device (e.g., IP address, proxy server, operating system, web browser and add-ons, usage logs, device identifier and features, cookie IDs and/or ISP, geolocation, or your mobile carrier). If you use our Services from a mobile device, that device will send us data about your location based on your phone settings.

  • Information from Other Sources:

We may obtain Customer Data from our vendors, partners, advertisers, Organizations, local agencies, and or public sources. We may use special tools that are commonly used, such as cookies, beacons, pixels, tags, mobile advertising IDs, flash cookies, and similar technologies. We may have access to databases of information collected by our business partners. When you register to use the Services, we may ask and verify your personally-identifying information to confirm your identity as the authorized person to use the Services.

How We Use Your Data

We use the Customer Data that we collect in a variety of ways in providing the Services and operating our business, including the following:

  • To allow you to register for our Services and to administer and process the registration
  • To fulfill your requests or transmit your information to the Organization along with the request
  • To communicate with you about products, services, and related issues
  • To evaluate the quality of our products and services, and to enhance your experience of our Services
  • To maintain and administer our Services and comply with our legal or internal obligations and policies
  • To invite you to use the Services
  • To charge you any fees and provide you with a receipt or resolve billing issues associated with your account
  • To investigate, respond to, and resolve complaints and for Service issues
  • To market or advertise our products and services. You may opt out of these at any time.
  • To understand and analyze usage trends and preferences of our visitors and users, to improve the Services, and to develop new products, services, features, and functionality
  • To verify the authenticity of a registering user by means of address verification, SMS 2-factor authentication, or other means deemed necessary

What’s Your Choice?

Choice is all about what you want and giving you the ability to control how we share your Customer Data with others. We never share any Customer Data with non-agent third parties, unless required to do so by law, or if we believe in good faith that disclosure is reasonably necessary to protect our property, rights, or those of third parties or the public at large.

The browser you use may provide you the ability to control cookies or other types of local storage. Your mobile device may provide you with choices around how and whether location or other data is collected and shared. Neighborhoody does not control these choices or default settings.

If you would like to request a copy of your Customer Data being held by us, request that your personal information is deleted, request to update and/or correct your personal information, or request that we provide a copy of your personal information to another data controller, please contact us as explained below. We cannot respond to your request or provide you with personal information if we cannot verify your identity or authority to make the request and confirm the personal information relates to you.

California Privacy Rights (CCPA)

Under the California Consumer Privacy Act or CCPA, California residents have certain rights regarding their data. The CCPA requires us to disclose whether we sell your personal information. We do not sell your personal information.

If you are a California resident, you may exercise certain rights to access, restrict, or delete your personal information by contacting us as explained below.

Privacy Information for EU Users (GDPR)

If you are in the European Union (EU), you have certain rights in relation to your personal information under the EU’s General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and other applicable European data privacy laws.

If you would like to request a copy of your Customer Data being held by us, request that your personal information is deleted, request to update and/or correct your personal information, or request that we provide a copy of your personal information to another data controller, please contact us as explained below.

How Does Neighborhoody Share Information with Third Parties?

As we’ve said above, we know that you do not want spam or marketing calls from third parties, so we will never sell or rent your Customer Data to third parties, and we won’t share it with a third party unless we have your authorization. We may share your information with a parent, subsidiary, or other affiliate of our corporate group.

The Services may contain features or links to web sites and services provided by third parties. Any Customer Data you provide on third-party sites or services is provided directly to the operators of such services and is subject to those operators’ policies, if any, governing privacy and security, even if accessed through the Services. We are not responsible for the content or privacy and security practices and policies of third-party sites or services to which links or access are provided through the Services. We encourage you to learn about third parties’ privacy and security policies before providing them with information.

Data Security & Retention

We follow generally accepted industry standards to protect the information submitted to us, both during transmission and once we receive it. We maintain appropriate administrative, technical and physical safeguards to protect Customer Data against accidental or unlawful destruction, accidental loss, unauthorized alteration, unauthorized disclosure or access, misuse, and any other unlawful form of processing of the Customer Data in our possession. This includes, for example, firewalls, password protection, and other access and authentication controls. We use SSL technology to encrypt data during transmission through the public internet, and we also employ application-layer security features to further anonymize Customer Data.

However, no method of transmission over the Internet, or method of electronic storage, is 100% secure. We cannot ensure or warrant the security of any information you transmit to us or store on the Services, and you do so at your own risk. We also cannot guarantee that such information may not be accessed, disclosed, altered, or destroyed by breach of any of our physical, technical, or managerial safeguards.

We'll retain Customer Data you store on our Services for as long as we need it to provide you the Services. If you delete your account, we may also delete this information. We may retain this information if necessary to comply with our legal obligations, resolve disputes, or enforce our agreements.

Where is my Information Stored?

Our Services are operated in the United States. If you are located in the European Union or elsewhere outside of the United States, please be aware that any information you provide to us will be transferred to the United States. By using our Site, participating in any of our services and/or providing us with your information, you consent to this transfer.

Children’s Privacy

Protecting the privacy of young children is especially important. Our Services are not directed to children under the age of 18, and we do not knowingly collect Customer Data from children under the age of 18 without obtaining parental consent. If you are under 18 years of age, then please do not use or access the Services at any time or in any manner. If we learn that Customer Data has been collected on the Services from persons under 18 years of age and without verifiable parental consent, then we will take the appropriate steps to delete this information. If you are a parent or guardian and discover that your child under 18 years of age has obtained access to the Service, then you may alert us at and request that we delete that child’s Customer Data from our systems.

Changes to the Policy

If we are involved in a reorganization, merger, acquisition or sale of our assets, your Customer Data may be transferred as part of that deal. We will notify you (for example, via a message to the email address associated with your account) of any such deal and outline your choices in that event.

We may revise this Policy from time to time, and will post the most current version on our website. If a revision meaningfully reduces your rights, we will notify you.
